Qualifications & Registration

  • Formal qualification (nursing degree/diploma, caregiver certificate)
  • Current professional registration or license
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification
  • Reference from previous or current employer

Experience

  • Experience in hospital, aged care, disability, community or home care
  • Dementia, mental health, chronic illness or palliative care experience
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams

Communication Skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Compassionate communication with clients and families
  • Active listening and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to explain care procedures clearly

Clinical & Practical Skills

  • Person-centred care, hygiene, mobility, feeding, medication support
  • Infection control and safety knowledge
  • Accurate observation and documentation
  • Ability to follow care plans and protocols

Safety, Ethics & Compliance

  • Understanding duty of care and safeguarding

  • Clean background checks (LC letter, references, Interpol if required)

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Physical ability to perform role safely
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call
